Chelsea has contacted the entourage of Georginio Wijnaldum. The club is looking to add another midfielder after a deal for their intended target, Lamine Camara of AS Monaco, failed. This followed the sale of Enzo Fernández to Manchester City. Wijnaldum, aged 35, is a free agent since leaving Al Ettifaq in early July and can be signed outside of the closed transfer window in England. He is one of the options Chelsea is considering to add experience to their squad; the club has already signed other veterans like Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson as part of this strategy. The Dutch international has 96 caps and 28 goals for the Netherlands and, according to Transfermarkt, a market value of €2.20m. He has also been linked with Real Salt Lake and Olympiakos Piraeus.
