Franko Kovačević leaving Celje?
According to 24ur.com, Celje's president, Valerij Kolotilo, plans to receive a record transfer fee of five million euros for Franko Kovačević. Kolotilo stated that he has not yet received an offer for the player. The president also said he would be satisfied with a record sale for Celje and Slovenia, which would mean a fee higher than those received for Raul Florucz and Ezekiel Henty. Both Raul Florucz and Ezekiel Henty transferred for five million euros.
Franko Kovačević stated that he has a contract for three years and everything depends on the club. He said the situation does not bother him, as he is playing, scoring, and is satisfied. Kovačević also stated that when something concrete comes, they will sit down and talk.
Franko Kovačević, a 26-year-old Croatian centre-forward, has attracted interest from many clubs from prestigious leagues. Celje will seek a significant transfer fee for him if a transfer happens, as his contract is not due to expire until June 2028. The player joined the club in July 2025. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €700k. He has been linked with Celta de Vigo, Dinamo Zagreb, and Hajduk Split.
