Francesco Acerbi Transfer from Inter to Al Hilal

Francesco Acerbi was close to joining Al Hilal in January as part of a deal that would have brought Joao Cancelo to Inter. The failed transfer of Joao Cancelo to Inter blocked Acerbi's move to Al Hilal. Gianluca Di Marzio reported that today Inter again refused the transfer of Acerbi to Simone Inzaghi and Al Hilal, stating that Inter was displeased with the situation involving Cancelo and therefore refused to sell the player.

Tuttomercato reports that Inter has reached an agreement with Al Hilal. Inzaghi wants one of either De Vrij or Acerbi, and the Italian central defender Acerbi is favored to move to Asia.

According to Tuttomercato, either Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij could move to Riyadh. Acerbi is the main candidate to reunite with Simone Inzaghi at Al Hilal. The Saudis want a central defender in exchange for Joao Cancelo's move to Inter.

Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano stated that Francesco Acerbi has a contract expiring in June and Al Hilal would need to pay compensation to acquire him immediately. They said this possibility is currently being discussed and is a situation to monitor. Acerbi is reportedly still very close to coach Simone Inzaghi, who currently leads Al Hilal.

Acerbi's agent, Federico Pastorello, stated that Al Hilal, a club coached by Inzaghi, is interested in Acerbi for January. Pastorello explained that teams in Saudi Arabia have eight slots for non-EU players and can also sign two under-23 players. He added that Al Hilal currently has no available slots and that he doubts anyone will leave in January to create space for another player.

Matteo Moretto confirms that Al-Hilal is interested in Inter's central defender, Francesco Acerbi. Acerbi's contract is out in June 2026, at which point he will be available on a free transfer.

Francesco Acerbi, who became a hero for Inter Milan with his goal in the Champions League semifinal against FC Barcelona, is now close to leaving the club due to a series of events. After a poor performance in the Champions League final against PSG, where Inter lost 5-0, Acerbi has lost his untouchable status. Additionally, a confrontation with a PSG fan in the United States during the Club World Cup, along with recent injuries affecting his performance, has put his future at the club in doubt. Rumors suggest he might reunite with former Inter coach Simone Inzaghi at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Acerbi might follow Simone Inzaghi to Al-Hilal, as Inzaghi has signed a two-year contract with the Saudi club, earning over 25 million euros per season. Inzaghi's debut with Al Hilal will be at the Club World Cup against Real Madrid on June 18. Additionally, Transfermarkt currently estimates Acerbi's market worth at 3.00 million euros.
