Millwall boss Alex Neil revealed to Southwark News that Millwall had rejected a bid from Ipswich Town for Femi Azeez, which would have been a club-record sale. Neil stated that the decision demonstrates the club's recognition of Azeez's importance to the team. He explained that Millwall are not in 12th place and needing to sell for financial reasons, noting that Ipswich is currently one point ahead of them. He added that they are having a great season and he thinks that retaining Azeez strengthens their position. Neil said that Jimmy (Berylson) deserves significant credit for permitting Azeez to remain with them until the end of the season. Neil also said they hope this will yield positive results. According to Southwark News, Millwall's record sale is still the transfer of Romain Esse, who moved to Crystal Palace for £14.5 million in January 2025. It is reported that Millwall would have conducted financially beneficial business if they had permitted Azeez to join Ipswich for a fee of more than £14.5m.
