A potential transfer for Palacios to RB Leipzig is considered unlikely in Leverkusen, according to a report from Bild. Following recent speculation about interest from the Champions League participant, Bayer has internally decided not to strengthen a direct competitor. Furthermore, a move within the league is not Palacios’s goal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Exequiel Palacios has options to leave Bayer Leverkusen and is ready for a new stage in his career. RB Leipzig are interested in the midfielder. Negotiations are continuing, but nothing has been agreed and a deal is not yet close.

Leverkusen's asking price for Palacios was 45 million euros last year, and it is not known if that price has decreased since. Palacios is presently on vacation, following his participation with Argentina in the World Cup.

RB Leipzig has shown strong interest in Bayer Leverkusen's central midfielder, Exequiel Palacios. The interest was initiated by the club's new coach, Martin Demichelis.
