According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, Al Nassr has been made aware of the conditions for a potential agreement involving Exequiel Palacios. The club is contemplating a move for the 26-year-old Argentine midfielder, who is presently contracted with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028. It is understood that Bayer Leverkusen is willing to consider offers for Palacios if they reach 45 million euros. Al Nassr's interest is a response to recent discussions between their league competitor Al Ahli and Palacios' representatives. The initiative to acquire Palacios is largely influenced by Al Nassr's German coach, Matthias Jaissle. Palacios, who transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in early 2020 from River Plate for 17 million euros, participated in 38 matches last season. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €40 million.
