According to Pete O’Rourke, Ethan Wheatley has agreed a move to Lincoln City. A number of clubs were pursuing Wheatley, but Lincoln have secured the striker’s signature.

Lincoln City are pursuing Manchester United's 20-year-old English striker Ethan Wheatley, who has been linked with both Lincoln and Everton. Everton have reportedly ended their pursuit of the player. According to a recent report, the Premier League club had discussed a potential package involving an initial fee, add-ons, and a sell-on percentage. The report also stated that they have now decided to prioritise their funds elsewhere, as they seek four other first-team additions. While Everton's decision may make it easier for Lincoln City to sign Wheatley, there is no indication yet that an agreement has been reached with Manchester United or the player. The move for Wheatley would be a loan, giving him the opportunity for development through regular Championship football. Wheatley has been capped three times for the England U20 team, his contract with Manchester United runs until June 2028, and he has a current Transfermarkt market value of €250k.
