Atlanta United has made the most expensive purchase in the history of Major League Soccer by acquiring Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough. The transfer fee is a record 22 million dollars (approximately 21.4 million euros), with potential bonuses increasing the total to 30 million. Atalanta, his previous club, will receive 10% of the profit from Middlesbrough's sale of the player due to a clause in the original sale agreement.
