Cypriot champions Omonia Nicosia plan to sell Anastasios Chatzigiovanis to OFI Creta and have chosen 25-year-old Romanian winger David Miculescu as his replacement. Omonia is looking to strengthen its attack before the transfer window closes on Wednesday, September 9. If the transfer happens, Miculescu would not be able to play in the Europa League group stage because the UEFA registration deadline was September 2, but he could play in domestic competitions. The move may be difficult to complete as Miculescu is highly appreciated by the FCSB management, particularly Gigi Becali and Mihai Stoica, for his attitude and defensive work. The player's importance to his current club was recently demonstrated when he was made captain following Florin Tănase's departure to Omonia. Becali has previously stated that Miculescu is extremely useful to the team and even suggested he would value him at 10 million euros. FCSB acquired Miculescu from UTA Arad in 2022 for 1.7 million euros. The Romanian international has eight caps for his country and is under contract until June 30, 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.30m.
