Daniel Banjaqui has a new contract renewal proposal from Benfica. In the summer of 2025, an initial approach for a contract renewal was made after Banjaqui won the U-17 European championship with the national team, but there was little progress at that time. The process was revisited around the U-17 World Cup, which Portugal also won in November, but again with little advancement in negotiations. In mid-January, Benfica formalized a contract renewal proposal, but the offer was not satisfactory to Banjaqui, his family, or his representatives, and negotiations were delayed compared to other players. Recently, there has been significant progress, with Benfica presenting a new proposal at the start of the week that is closer to Banjaqui's expectations. Banjaqui has also been given the guarantee of being an important member of Benfica's first team.
