According to Football League World, Derby County are considering a move for Conor Chaplin, who is available on a free transfer. The 29-year-old attacking midfielder's five-year tenure at Ipswich Town has ended because the club decided against activating his one-year option following their promotion to the Premier League. Chaplin's contribution to Ipswich's 2023-24 promotion-winning Championship season included 13 goals and nine assists, but his playing time was reduced in the top flight. He spent the majority of the recent 2025-26 season on loan at his former club Portsmouth, scoring twice in the league. Derby are the first club to be linked with the free agent before the summer transfer window.
