The Sheffield Star reports that Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing 29-year-old English striker Colby Bishop from Portsmouth. Sheffield Wednesday are looking to rebuild for League One after being the lowest scorers in the Championship last season. Bishop has been at Fratton Park for four seasons and was an important player for the team that was promoted from the third tier, having scored 72 goals at that level for both Portsmouth and Accrington Stanley. His performance level has since decreased, and he managed only three goals and two assists in 42 appearances during the 2025-26 season. The striker has two years remaining on his contract, but Portsmouth may be willing to allow his departure as they are also rebuilding after recent struggles. According to The Sheffield Star, Bishop's wage demands are expected to be within Wednesday's budget. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.20m.
