According to SkySportDE, FC Augsburg ended negotiations with Crystal Palace for Chrislain Matsima today. Two days ago, Augsburg and Matsima's camp believed they were close to an agreement, but a deal was never finalised. The final details concerning bonuses and the payment structure could not be agreed upon, with Palace being unwilling to compromise. Matsima and his agent were informed of the decision today. Matsima will now travel to Augsburg’s training camp, and the club does not expect Crystal Palace to make a new offer.

Ben Jacobs reports that talks concerning Chrislain Matsima's transfer have not progressed because of Augsburg's valuation.

FC Augsburg exercised the purchase option for Chrislain Matsima for five million euros, an option which had been agreed with AS Monaco. Matsima, who had initially joined the club on loan in summer 2024, extended his contract by one year until 2030.

According to 'Sport Bild', the management plans to convince the 23-year-old central defender to extend his contract, which is already dated until 2029, as quickly as possible.
