VfB Stuttgart accepted an offer of €23 million from Brighton & Hove Albion for Spanish defensive midfielder Chema Andrés on Deadline Day. It is reported that the agreement includes a high resale participation clause. Real Madrid, which is the 21-year-old's academy club, was indirectly involved in the transaction. The club had a buy-back option valued at approximately €10 million, which they decided not to exercise. As a result, Real Madrid is set to receive half of the transfer fee, amounting to €11.5 million. Andrés has five caps for Spain's U21 team and moved to Stuttgart from the reserves of Real Madrid in July 2025 for a transfer fee reported to be €3 million. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €20 million.
