Charlie Cresswell Transfer from Toulouse to Rennes
According to Florian Plettenberg, Rennes are interested in Toulouse's 23-year-old English centre-back, Charlie Cresswell. Rennes reportedly view Cresswell as a potential replacement for Jérémy Jacquet, who is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The defender has also received interest from Premier League clubs, and West Ham has been repeatedly linked with him. During this transfer window, Wolfsburg has had several bids for the player rejected by Toulouse. One of these was reportedly an €18 million offer made in January 2026, while the asking price is at least €25 million. If Rennes receive a potential record fee for Jacquet, they would be in a financial position to meet Toulouse's valuation of Cresswell. Cresswell is an England U21 international with 26 caps. He joined the French club from Leeds United in July 2024 for a fee of €4.5 million and has a contract that lasts until 2028. This season, he has been in strong form, making 18 Ligue 1 appearances in which he has contributed 3 goals and 1 assist. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €15.00m.
