According to journalist Matteo Moretto, RCD Espanyol has secured the Congolese international Charles Pickel, who would become the tenth summer signing for the team managed by Manolo González. Pickel was key in Cremonese's promotion to Serie A last season. Since joining Italy in 2022, after a payment of 3.8 million euros to Famalicao, he has played 108 matches, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. The current offer is reported to be 1.1 million euros fixed plus 400,000 in bonuses.
