There have been suggestions that Liverpool might seek to bring 27-year-old Ireland international Caoimhin Kelleher back from Brentford. This is proposed as a replacement for Alisson, whose future is uncertain as he has one year left on his contract. The manager of Brentford has dismissed this possibility. Kelleher was sold to Brentford by Liverpool last summer for an initial £12.5m, a fee that will rise to £18m with add-ons, and he signed a five-year deal. Brentford manager Keith Andrews has stated there is no possibility of a return and that the player is not for sale.
