Cameron Archer, a 24-year-old English striker, could leave Southampton before the winter transfer window closes, with Middlesbrough being a possible destination. A permanent transfer may be difficult for Boro to afford, so a loan deal with an option to buy could be the most viable solution. Archer previously had a successful loan spell with the club during the 2022/23 campaign, and reports in February 2025 suggested a fee between £15m and £20m would convince Southampton to sell.
