América is seeking to sign 23-year-old Argentine-Italian midfielder Bruno Zapelli from Athletico Paranaense. The signing is reportedly a request from coach André Jardine, who wants a number 10. Zapelli has a market value of $5 million USD, but the América board has been unable to complete the transfer due to financial difficulties. Huerta commented that the club may not have the money to pay for him. The player moved to the Brazilian club in 2023 from Belgrano. His contract with Athletico Paranaense runs until July 2028.
