Santiago Baños, the sporting president of América, has provided more details on why the transfer of Luis Chávez was unsuccessful. Baños revealed that the signing became impossible because an American fund could not pay the Russian club. He explained that Dinamo Moscú did not want a proposal for an English fund to be used for the player to terminate his contract.

Santiago Baños revealed that América had nearly completed a deal for midfielder Luis Chávez, but the transfer did not happen because Dinamo Moscú did not accept the payment proposals presented by América. Baños stated that an agreement was in place with Chávez, but that one day before the market closed, the club's management changed, and Dinamo Moscú refused the proposed payment structure. Baños also noted that América remains interested in Chávez and may analyze his potential signing again, possibly as a free agent when his contract with the Russian club ends in mid-2027.

América has an intention to sign the 30-year-old Mexican international and former Pachuca player, Luis Chávez. Their interest has not progressed, and they remain attentive to his situation. An obstacle is that his current club, Dinamo Moscú, wishes to keep the midfielder. The management of the Russian club has expressed an intention to renew Chávez's contract and has made him a proposal. The offer is for a two-season extension to his current deal, which ends in July 2027. Chávez is considered an important player for the Moscow team, making his renewal a priority in their planning. Regarding América's interest, Chávez is an option to strengthen the squad, but they have not advanced beyond their initial intention and no formal negotiations are underway. The only contact was a call from Guillermo Almada to the player to convey his interest, but no concrete offer was made. Chávez joined Dynamo Moscow on 25/08/2023, has 46 caps and 5 goals for Mexico, and has a current market value of €6.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
