Ben Brannan leaving Kilmarnock?
Ben Brannan has said he informed Kilmarnock he wanted to go out on loan, which resulted in his return to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The defender approached Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann about securing a loan to get more game time. Brannan stated that it was he who wanted to initiate the move as he was not satisfied with the playing time he was getting. He feels there is a strong squad at Kilmarnock now and he was the one who was recently left out. He asked the manager if he could go on loan for game time and for his development. Brannan said once he heard of the possibility of returning to Inverness, he wanted the move to happen. He added that he enjoyed his previous time at the club and wanted to join to help in the effort to win the title, noting they are at the opposite end of the table this time.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC has signed defender Ben Brannan on loan from Kilmarnock FC until the end of the season, an arrangement that is subject to SFA clearance. Brannan, 19, previously spent the second half of last season on loan at the club, during which he made 11 appearances and scored one goal. The Scottish full-back also captained Kilmarnock’s Under-18 side during their Scottish Youth Cup-winning campaign last season and has made 23 appearances for the Premiership side this season, scoring four goals. Upon joining, Ben Brannan said he was very pleased to be back and that he had really enjoyed his time at the club last season. He added that he loves the way the manager has the team playing and that they are looking for promotion this season. Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC thanked Kilmarnock FC for their assistance with this matter. Brannan has one cap for the Scotland U17 team. His contract with Kilmarnock is set to expire in May 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €400k.
