After finishing the season on loan at Sevilla, the option in French and Guinea-Bissau defensive midfielder Batista Mendy's contract was not exercised. The 26-year-old, who is still contracted to Trabzonspor, wants to continue his career in either Spain or France. La Liga team Getafe has recently shown interest in the player, and negotiations over a transfer fee have begun between the clubs. Trabzonspor is expecting to receive around 4 to 5 million euros from his sale. During his loan spell in the 2025/2026 season, Mendy made 27 appearances and scored one goal in LaLiga. He has previously been capped by France at the U19 level. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €7.50m.
