A report from ESPN states that Ajax is targeting FC Twente's 25-year-old Dutch right back, Bart van Rooij, and has held an initial conversation with the player. The Amsterdam club reportedly finds the ten million euro asking price to be too high. Despite this, Ajax believes Van Rooij is suitable for coach Míchel's system, as his current role involving playing next to the central defenders during build-up and delivering line-breaking passes is what the Spanish coach requires from a right back. Van Rooij, who has been capped five times for the Netherlands U19 team, joined Twente in August 2024 and has a contract that runs until 2028. Other clubs that have been linked with the player include Feyenoord and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
