Sources have confirmed there is Premier League interest in the Japan international. It is understood that Tanaka is open to leaving Elland Road for more regular playing time and has a preference to remain in England. Leeds had previously been open to selling Tanaka, with a fee of approximately £15 million considered a starting point. However, a recent strong performance has reportedly led the club to reconsider a transfer, and they may now consider offering him a new contract. Tanaka, who has 37 caps for his country and joined Leeds in August 2024, has made two Premier League appearances this season. His current contract is set to expire in 2028. Reports from March and April 2026 suggested an asking price for Tanaka between €10 million and €12 million.
