Antoine Makoumbou Transfer from Cagliari to Samsunspor

According to Tuttomercato, Antoine Makoumbou has officially moved from Cagliari to Samsunspor, a team competing in Turkey's top football league. Despite having attracted interest from clubs in Germany and Greece, Makoumbou opted for a transfer to Turkey. Cagliari announced that the transfer was permanent and expressed gratitude towards Makoumbou for his contributions over three seasons, which included assisting in the team's promotion to Serie A and helping maintain their league status for two seasons. Throughout his career, Makoumbou has played for Monaco, Ajaccio B, Mainz 05, Tabor Sežana, and Maribor.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Turkish side Samsunspor has opened talks to sign Cagliari midfielder Antoine Makoumbou.

Samsunspor has expressed interest in acquiring Antoine Makoumbou, but financial constraints currently prevent them from proceeding with the transfer. The club plans to reconsider the move if the player's price becomes more affordable. Due to competition from other clubs, including PAOK, the transfer fee has risen by 1 million euros, with salary demands increasing by 300,000 euros. Samsunspor president Yüksel Yıldırım indicated that PAOK from Greece, along with one or two other clubs, is actively interested in Makoumbou, which has contributed to the increase in his price. Makoumbou, a 26-year-old Congolese defensive midfielder, is currently playing for Cagliari in Italy, where he made 33 appearances and provided three assists in Serie A last season. As the transfer appears increasingly unlikely under the current financial conditions, Samsunspor is exploring other options for the 'number 6' position.
