Botafogo is attempting to sign Anthony, a 20-year-old Brazilian defender who plays for Goiás. The strategy of the Rio de Janeiro club is to acquire the player without a transfer fee by offering Goiás a percentage of his economic rights, which would allow Goiás to profit from a future sale. Anthony's contract with Goiás expires at the end of 2026, allowing him to sign a pre-contract with another club in the middle of that year. Botafogo, however, wants to acquire him before the current transfer window closes on March 27. Goiás has not yet responded positively to the proposal. The defender, who is 1.92m tall and left-footed, was developed at Goiás and was a South American champion with the Brazilian U-20 team in 2025. He has made zero appearances in the current Campeonato Goiano season. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €300k.
