Despite interest from 12 different clubs, Zeqiri decided against moving to Saudi Arabia, stating that it was not a preferred destination. Instead, he signed with Widzew Lodz, largely due to the club's persistent pursuit of his transfer. The owner of Widzew Lodz traveled personally to meet Zeqiri and successfully convinced him to join the Polish club, which will mark him as the second most expensive incoming transfer in Poland's football history. Clubs from Russia and Saudi Arabia, including Al-Shabaab, were not deemed suitable by Zeqiri due to his personal preferences. Transfermarkt estimates the player's market value at €4.00m.
