Arsenal have scouted Real Sociedad's 24-year-old Spanish winger Ander Barrenetxea extensively this year and were impressed by his performances, while Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have also watched him closely. Amid the growing interest from the Premier League, Real Sociedad are determined to keep the player. The Basque club has no intention of encouraging offers this summer. Barrenetxea is under contract until 2030 and his deal contains a €75m (£65.5m) release clause, a valuation Sociedad is expected to insist on. It was reported in May 2026 that Chelsea was preparing a proposal of approximately €80 million to complete the transfer.
