Racing Club has reached a verbal agreement with Alfonso Espino, who will be their first reinforcement of the transfer market. The 34-year-old Uruguayan left-back, who previously played for Nacional de Uruguay and Cádiz, became a free agent after his contract with Rayo Vallecano ended. In the 2025/26 LaLiga season, the uncapped Uruguayan made 30 appearances and scored 2 goals for Rayo. He is set to agree on a two-year deal and is expected to arrive in Avellaneda to join the club, if no unforeseen problems arise. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €900k.
