The purpose of the visit was to observe the Italian-Swiss defensive midfielder Romano, who was born in 2006, along with the Senegalese attacker Mendy. Romano joined Cagliari in July 2026 on loan from AS Roma, a deal that includes an obligation to buy under certain conditions. The 20-year-old has been capped by the Switzerland U20 team, and according to Transfermarkt, has a current market value of €2.00m.
