TYC reports that Bahía will pay 9 million euros to Tottenham for the transfer of Alejo Véliz. Alejo Véliz will join Bahía in June 2026. According to reports, he will sign a contract until December 2030. Alejo Véliz's loan at Rosario Central will end in June, after which he will move to Bahía.

According to journalist Yuri Santana on X, Alejo Véliz will be a Bahia player. Santana reported that Bahia and Tottenham have reached an agreement, and the Argentinian striker will sign a five-year contract with the Tricolor. Santana also reported that Alejo will only arrive mid-season, after his loan spell at Rosario Central ends. Fabrizio Romano wrote on X that Bahia have agreed a deal to sign Alejo Véliz from Tottenham on a permanent move for a €9m fee plus add-ons. Romano added that Véliz wanted to stay in Rosario until the end of his loan and then join Bahia. Romano also wrote that a medical is to happen in June, and the deal was verbally agreed with director Cadu Santoro today.

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sell Alejo Véliz and have an agreement with Brazilian club Bahia on a fee of approximately €10 million for the 22-year-old attacker, but the player is not interested in the move. Véliz, who is currently on loan at his boyhood club Rosario Central, wishes to stay with the Argentine side to participate in the Copa Libertadores. Although Bahia is prepared to offer him a permanent transfer from Tottenham this month, they will now have to persuade the striker to join.
