According to a report from TYC, reviving Boca's deal to sign Alan Lescano is now considered improbable as interest in the matter has diminished. Gimnasia did not agree to sell its half of the player's rights to either Argentinos Juniors or Boca. When Boca appeared to be buying the Argentinos Juniors captain, president Cristian Malaspina aimed to first acquire the other 50 percent of the player's rights from Gimnasia to gain more from the final sale. Under the current conditions, Argentinos Juniors would only receive between $500,000 and $1 million. Gimnasia, although willing to sell, valued its share at about $3 million, which deterred buyers. Unlike Argentinos Juniors, Gimnasia is not in a hurry and believes the player's price could increase in the coming months.

TYC reports that the transfer of Alan Lescano to Boca Juniors failed. Boca had reached an agreement with Lescano's representatives and was willing to make an offer to Argentinos Juniors and Gimnasia for the player's full ownership. However, the transfer did not proceed because of differences between the two clubs that co-own his rights. Boca was prepared to buy the Argentinos Juniors captain, but president Cristian Malaspina requested time to negotiate with Gimnasia for the acquisition of the remaining 50% of Lescano's rights. Argentinos Juniors would only permit his transfer if they owned 100% of his rights to maximize their profit. Gimnasia was not willing to sell their share and, although open to negotiations, stopped the transfer. The transfer is now unlikely to happen, as little time is left before the registration deadline.

Boca Juniors has identified Alan Lescano, a 24-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder, as a primary target to fill an extraordinary spot that will be freed up by the departure of Lucas Blondel, with a deadline of March 10 to complete any deal. Media reports indicated that Boca had inquired about the conditions for signing Lescano, who is reportedly a long-time favorite of Juan Román Riquelme. In response, Argentinos' president Cristian Malaspina spoke to DSports Radio. Malaspina stated that there was nothing to the reported interest from Boca. He explained that a contractual situation with Gimnasia makes it inconvenient for Argentinos to sell Lescano. Malaspina also added that their captain would be very hard to replace and confirmed the club's position of not selling to a direct competitor will remain firm until the contractual circumstances change. Lescano joined Argentinos Juniors in July 2023 and has a contract until the end of 2027. In the current 25/26 Torneo Apertura season, he has made 6 appearances and provided 1 assist. His market value is listed by Transfermarkt at €7.50m.
