Alan Nixon reported that Coventry City are interested in FC Cincinnati striker Kevin Denkey. Denkey joined Cincinnati from Cercle Brugge in 2024 for a fee of $16.2 million (£12 million). His guaranteed salary for 2025 is $3.81 million (£2.82 million) a year, the second-highest at the club, which is equivalent to $73,269 (£64,023) per week. Denkey is a Designated Player for Cincinnati and has a contract until at least the end of 2029. It is thought that the salary Denkey would likely demand is at least £70,000 per week, a figure that is beyond the financial means of Championship clubs. However, Coventry considers him a primary potential target for June onwards.

It is reported that Coventry City and Middlesbrough are interested in signing 25-year-old FC Cincinnati striker Kévin Denkey, but only if they are promoted to the Premier League. The Togolese and French forward is open to a move to England, and his profile is attractive to both clubs. Denkey joined his current team from Cercle Brugge in November 2024 for a record MLS transfer fee of $16.2 million, which is about £13m. His contract runs until 2028 with an option for a further year. For the Togo national team, he has 44 caps and has scored 10 goals. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €14.00m.
