According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, Trabzonspor is currently in negotiations with Ajax for a permanent transfer of Ahmetcan Kaplan. Trabzonspor would like to pay four million euros for Kaplan. The main issue in the negotiations between Kaplan and his former club Trabzonspor is salary. Hurriyet reports that Trabzonspor is considering an annual wage of over one and a half million euros, while Kaplan is aiming for two and a half million.

According to Fanatik, Trabzonspor is interested in re-signing Ahmetcan Kaplan to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season. Trabzonspor's management offered Kaplan an annual salary of 1.6 million euros, but the player and his father found this amount insufficient. Kaplan is requesting a guaranteed annual salary of 2.5 million euros plus performance bonuses. If Kaplan accepts the offer, Trabzonspor will then start negotiations with Ajax, which currently holds his registration rights.

Trabzonspor management is actively pursuing their former defender Ahmetcan Kaplan, who was transferred to Ajax in August 2022 for 9 million Euros. During a vacation in Trabzon last summer, Kaplan indicated a desire to return. Trabzonspor plans to approach Ajax for negotiations regarding the 22-year-old center-back, who last season played in 8 Eredivisie matches (562 minutes), 3 Europa League matches (196 minutes), and 1 cup match (90 minutes) for Ajax. Currently, Transfermarkt estimates his market value at 6.00 million euros.
