Ademola Lookman Transfer from Atalanta to FC Bayern München
Bayern Munich has made an official offer to Atalanta for a loan with an option to buy for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman. The offer comes after Bayern's interest in Lookman following a halt in negotiations with Inter. The news was initially reported by The Athletic and later confirmed by Matteo Moretto. Lookman is training alone until September 2 as per Atalanta's decision, indicating a potential move before the transfer window closes.
Bayern Munich is interested in acquiring Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, 27, on loan from Atalanta Bergamo, with the possibility of a future purchase. Lookman has expressed a desire to leave Bergamo throughout the summer. A potential transfer to Inter Milan did not materialize because Atalanta was unwilling to sell him to another Italian club, despite interest from several other top European clubs, including those in the Premier League. Bayern Munich is aiming to finalize the loan agreement by the transfer deadline on September 1st. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the deal may include a compulsory purchase clause. Lookman, who transferred to Atalanta from Leipzig in 2022 for 11 million euros, has been a significant player, recording 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 games. However, due to ongoing transfer disputes, he is no longer considered part of Atalanta's future plans. The forward's contract in Italy runs until June 2027, and his current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €60 million.
