Lorient announced that Ade Solanke has departed for the Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. Solanke is an 18-year-old Irish U18 international left-back who also holds Nigerian citizenship and has been capped four times at the U18 level. He had joined Lorient a year ago from Irish Premier Division side Shamrocks Rovers. Solanke did not play for Lorient's first team, but made four appearances for the reserves and seven for the U19s. The player is moving to a club where the owner, American businessman Bill Foley, is also an investor in Lorient. In its official statement, Lorient wished Solanke well with the Cherries.
