Ipswich Town are encouraged to compete with Coventry City to sign Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu. Fatawu is 22 years old, joined Leicester in July 2024, and is reportedly valued at £20m. It is suggested that Ipswich should compete with Coventry to sign the player, as Leicester have been relegated to League One and may need to sell some of their key players. Abdul Fatawu is described as a Ghana international and a proven Championship player who has not yet performed consistently in the Premier League. He has 27 caps and 3 goals for his country. In the Championship, he achieved a combined 15 goals and 20 assists during the 2023/24 and 2025/26 campaigns. This season in the Championship for Leicester, he has scored nine goals and provided seven assists. Fatawu's July 2024 transfer from Sporting CP to Leicester was for a reported fee of €17 million. Recent reports from May 2026 state he has a release clause of approximately €35 million.
