Mjallby CEO Jacob Lennartsson said that Abdoulie Manneh is in talks with a new club regarding a transfer, and that this is the likely reason why a move to the Midlands has not occurred. Lennartsson also said they can confirm Abdoulie Manneh has been given permission to visit another club for a potential transfer. He added that at this point, they can neither confirm if the deal will be completed nor if it will not, as negotiations are underway between the two clubs, and between the player and the purchasing club. Manneh, a 21-year-old winger from The Gambia, joined Mjällby in January 2024 and has 4 caps and 3 goals for his country. His contract is valid until December 2027 and his current Transfermarkt valuation is €2.50m. It is understood that the reference to the Midlands relates to interest from clubs that include Birmingham City and Coventry City. It was reported in November 2025 that Coventry City made an offer of €4.5 million, while Stoke City submitted a proposal estimated to be €6 million or more.
