Seattle Sounders is targeting the arrival of Casper Tengstedt, a 26-year-old Danish centre-forward, this summer. Tengstedt is currently not assured of a starting spot at Feyenoord. With Ayase Ueda still at the Rotterdammers and Shaqueel van Persie fit again, the Danish forward appears to be left out. A transfer is therefore considered a possibility.
Seattle Sounders would like to sign Tengstedt, but there are obstacles. There is currently no spot for a new 'designated player' at Seattle Sounders, meaning the club cannot currently offer Tengstedt a contract above the salary cap. Feyenoord has Tengstedt under contract until summer 2029 and can therefore demand a high transfer fee. Technical director Dévy Rigaux is known as a tough negotiator. Tengstedt joined Feyenoord in July 2025 and scored 3 goals in 18 Eredivisie appearances last season. He has a current market value of €3.50m, according to Transfermarkt, and has 5 caps for the Denmark U21 team.
