Olympique Lyonnais considered 24-year-old French forward Arnaud Kalimuendo, who is reportedly experiencing difficulties at Nottingham Forest, as a possible loan option. The French club also considered another Premier League player, Mathys Tel of Tottenham, as they do not plan to invest in a number 9 this summer. These options were considered alongside other targets, but Lyon gave priority to a different forward because they required a new attacker for the Champions League preliminary round, while Kalimuendo was reportedly still waiting for a clear project from his club.
Kalimuendo's contract with Forest runs until 2030, and Eintracht Frankfurt has also been associated with the player. Recent reports from July 2026 suggest that Frankfurt has made an offer of around €20 million, while Nottingham Forest, who reportedly paid €30 million for him in August 2025, is asking for a minimum of €25 million. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €25.00m.
