AC Milan had Luca Reggiani on their shortlist but did not make a formal move, while the Saints did make a formal move.

Luca Reggiani may leave Borussia Dortmund in January. According to the German newspaper Bild, the Italian defender, who was born in 2008, is finding little playing time at the start of the new season and could consider leaving in January to play more. Milan showed interest in Reggiani last summer. Reggiani would not rule out a return to Italy.

Luca Reggiani has continued to be strongly linked with AC Milan into the final week of the transfer window.

Matteo Moretto reports that the centre-back was offered to AC Milan and the club's officials are currently discussing a possible signing. A simple loan is probably not an option for the Milan clubs, so a lucrative transfer package would be needed to persuade Dortmund to sell. In March, Reggiani extended his contract long-term.
