Premier League club Nottingham Forest has identified 29-year-old Zimbabwean international Marshall Munetsi as a target to strengthen its midfield for the upcoming summer transfer window. The player's former coach at Wolverhampton, Vitor Pereira, is internally advocating for the transfer. Wolverhampton, the club that owns Munetsi, and Nottingham Forest are close to a principle agreement, and Forest has started discussions with the player's representatives.
However, it is also reported that Munetsi, who is currently on loan at Paris FC, has indicated a desire to stay with the French club, although no discussions have yet occurred regarding this matter. A decision on the matter is expected in the coming weeks. Munetsi, who has 34 caps for his country, is under contract with Wolverhampton until June 2028. His transfer from Reims to the Premier League club in February 2025 had a confirmed base fee of €18 million, and Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €12 million.
