The latest transfer talk surrounding Leeds United includes a new link with Moroccan attacker Yassir Zabiri. Our analysis of the past seven days shows the club has been tied to four possible arrivals and one potential exit. The items below detail the latest news on the most important transfer rumours, with the hottest storyline right now concerning Irish forward Tom Lonergan.

Yassir Zabiri

Yassir Zabiri transfer card On Wednesday, it was reported that Leeds United and fellow English club Ipswich Town are interested in 21-year-old Moroccan international attacker Yassir Zabiri. Both clubs have reportedly sent representatives to watch his performances for Racing Santander, where he is on loan from Stade Rennais. The French club holds his contract until the summer of 2029, and his loan deal does not include a purchase option, though Racing Santander wants to keep him. According to previous reports by Africafoot, the Spanish club has already submitted an official offer to Rennes for the player, who has two caps for his country. Zabiri, who moved to Rennes from Famalicão in February 2026 for a reported fee of approximately €10 million, has a current market value estimated at €20.00m by Transfermarkt.

Dion Beljo

Leeds United have been linked with Dinamo Zagreb's Croatian striker Dion Beljo, who has previously identified the club as one of his favourites in the Premier League, as of Tuesday. Manchester United, Tottenham, and Everton are also monitoring the 24-year-old forward and view the January transfer window as a potential opportunity. Brentford, the City Football Group, and Chelsea's ownership group, BlueCo, have also shown interest. The interest in Beljo, who has also named Newcastle United as a favoured side, is currently at the tracking and assessment stage. The forward, who has four caps and one goal for Croatia, joined Dinamo in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2030. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €15.00m.

Tom Lonergan

On Tuesday, Irish football expert Ronan Calvert described Tommy Lonergan as a physically strong and well-performing striker, stating that he would be a very good signing for Leeds. Calvert added that Lonergan is the League of Ireland’s top scorer despite playing for Waterford FC all year, and according to the expert, sources suggest he is ready for the next level in England. Last Thursday, Leeds United were among several Premier League clubs, including Sunderland, Everton, Brentford, and Brighton, with scouts in attendance to watch the forward during the Republic of Ireland Under-21s' 3-1 victory over England. Lonergan scored two goals in the match, bringing his total to 4 goals in 9 appearances for the U21 side. The 22-year-old's performance at Waterford, where he scored 15 goals during 2026, has led to increased interest from clubs across England, including a number of Championship clubs. The former Fleetwood Town player, who joined Waterford in July 2025, has a contract that runs until November 2027 and a current market value of €225k, according to Transfermarkt. Sources indicate Lonergan is a subject of significant interest ahead of the January transfer window.

Tarik Muharemović

According to sources on Saturday, Bayern Munich admire Tarik Muharemovic and are tracking his progress, considering a potential mid-season move. The German club has him listed as part of their defensive rebuild plans, viewing the defender as an option for a later window rather than an immediate bid. Sources close to the situation state that Leeds United will make it clear that they do not intend to sell Muharemovic in January or next summer and are refusing to name a price. It is suggested that it would take more than £60 million, a club-record sale, for the idea to be considered. There is no suggestion of a January exit, and no indication that manager Daniel Farke wants the option of a sale. It is also stated that the player has already clarified he is very happy at the club.

Esteban Lepaul

During the summer, Leeds United, Everton, and Aston Villa checked on Rennes striker Esteban Lepaul, according to a report on Sunday. The 26-year-old Frenchman, who has been capped three times for his country, has also been watched by Brentford and Brighton, with Everton's interest said to be the strongest at present. The interest from multiple Premier League clubs reportedly prompted Rennes to secure Lepaul with a new long-term contract. Despite the new deal, a potential January transfer is still considered a possibility, contingent on the French club's stance. Lepaul joined Rennes from Angers in August 2025 for a reported €13.5 million plus bonuses and has a current market value estimated by Transfermarkt at €45.00m. Reports in October 2026 suggested that Rennes had set an asking price for the striker between €50 million and €60 million.
