Feyenoord is in extensive negotiations with AS Roma for the transfer of Givairo Read, a 20-year-old Dutch-Surinamese right-back, after the Serie A club submitted a bid worth at least €25 million late on Wednesday. It is reported that the Italian club is preparing a five-year contract for the player, which gives it an advantage over Nottingham Forest, who have had three previous offers rejected. Those offers were reportedly in the range of €17.5 million to €23 million.
Other teams, such as Bayern München, Newcastle United, and Paris FC, have also made inquiries or have previously inquired about the right-back. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €25.00m. Read joined Feyenoord in July 2024, has one cap for the Netherlands U21 team, and during the 2025/2026 Eredivisie season, he recorded 3 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances. Feyenoord's asking price has been consistently reported to be at least €30 million.
