Claudio Echeverri's loan at Bayer Leverkusen will be terminated this winter because of a lack of playing time, and the 19-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder will return to Manchester City. His involvement in the Bundesliga this season consists of six appearances. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs to end the loan.
The player is not expected to stay with Manchester City and will be sent on a new loan. Both Girona and his former club, River Plate, have expressed their interest. Echeverri has 12 caps and 6 goals for Argentina's U20 team. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €15.00m. Manchester City originally signed him from River Plate in January 2024 for a fee reported to be €14.5 million. In August 2025, reports suggested that AS Roma had proposed a loan with a buy option valued between €28-35 million.
