Manchester City has set its sights on 20-year-old Algerian-German attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza, but a deal appears complex as Bayer Leverkusen has already rejected an initial approach. The German club has indicated that a minimum of 70 million euros would be necessary to even open discussions. Internally, Leverkusen is reportedly unwilling to sell the player unless a very large offer is made. Maza is considered one of the most promising talents of his generation, and his solid season, which included 5 goals and 6 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions, has fueled growing interest from top European clubs. His value is estimated at 40 million euros by Transfermarkt.

The Algerian international, who has 15 caps and 2 goals for his country, joined Leverkusen in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2030. In the Bundesliga this season, he has recorded 3 goals and 4 assists in 23 appearances. The current interest follows his €12 million transfer from Hertha BSC in July 2025; in March 2026, a reported €35 million offer from Atlético Madrid was also deemed insufficient by Bayer Leverkusen.
