Aston Villa are being linked with a number of players as the transfer window approaches, with the latest reports connecting them to a surprise move for Arsenal winger Noni Madueke. Our analysis of the past seven days shows the club has been tied to 10 possible arrivals and 0 potential exits. The hottest storyline right now concerns Nicolas Raskin, and below are the latest updates on the most important transfer rumours surrounding the club.
Noni Madueke
On Tuesday, it was reported that Aston Villa is a potential destination for Noni Madueke, as the 24-year-old English winger's lack of starting appearances at Arsenal could lead to an exit. According to The Telegraph, Juventus and Atlético Madrid are monitoring his situation ahead of the January transfer window. Madueke's contract, which he signed upon joining Arsenal in July 2025, is due to expire in June 2030.
Igor Matanović
Aston Villa is reportedly one of six English clubs monitoring SC Freiburg's Croatian-German striker Igor Matanović, according to a report on Monday. Freiburg are not obligated to sell Matanović, whose contract is valid until 2029, and the Bundesliga club is said to value him at approximately £50 million. The potential competition to sign the player is described as being in a scouting phase, with no bids submitted so far.
Endrick
According to a Tuesday report from Cadena SER, Aston Villa is the leading candidate to sign Endrick on a potential loan deal this winter. The Spanish media outlet reports that the English club has greater financial resources than its competitors and offers the possibility of Champions League knockout phase football. A day earlier, Team Talk reported that Aston Villa made an inquiry about Endrick in the summer. The outlet added that Real Madrid are prepared to listen to proposals for a loan in January, but only on a straight loan basis without an option to buy, a structure that does not suit what English clubs are looking for.
Scott McTominay
On Monday, Team Talk reported that Aston Villa have renewed their interest in Scott McTominay. The report states both Aston Villa and Manchester United are ready to resume negotiations as Napoli’s strict contract position is not changing, with the Italian club only valuing the midfielder at between €25-30m (£21-25m). This followed a report from Tuttomercato on Friday which stated McTominay will probably leave Napoli at the end of next season, with a renewal considered unlikely. The Italian outlet added that several clubs, including Aston Villa, asked for information about the player last summer.
Nicolas Raskin
Team Talk reported on Monday that Aston Villa have made contact over a potential move for Nicolas Raskin. The report added that it is understood Villa remain big admirers of Raskin and are tracking his situation. Last Thursday, TEAMtalk also reported that Raskin can choose from eight clubs and that Aston Villa is still closely monitoring his situation. It was also reported that week that Raskin plans to finish the season at Rangers and could possibly move in the summer, with the club said to require more than 20 million euros for a transfer.
Kevin Viveros
According to a report from Globo Esporte on Friday, Aston Villa are pursuing Athletico Paranaense striker Kevin Viveros after talks over a new contract stalled. The 26-year-old Colombia international is the Brazilian league’s top scorer this year with 18 goals in 26 games. Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, it was reported that Aston Villa has made contact for the striker, with Athletico Paranaense having rejected offers of around £13 million. Sources suggested interest from the Premier League could result in a fee in the £25-35 million range.
Antonio Nusa
A report on Saturday stated that Arsenal are preparing an opening offer for RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa and are attempting to sign the player ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. Online German source Fussball News reports that Villa are monitoring the player.
