The most significant recent transaction was his permanent move from Botafogo to Atlético-MG in January 2025 for a fee reported between US$7 million (~€6.5 million) and US$8 million (~€7.4 million). Just prior to that, in January 2025, Trabzonspor reportedly offered €2.5 million, while Botafogo's asking price was said to be at least €5 million.

Our valuation is driven by the significant decline in Júnior Santos's market standing since his transfer to Atlético-MG from Botafogo for approximately €7 million in January 2025. Despite that high fee, a subsequent season affected by injury and poor form has led to a situation where, by early 2026, interest from multiple clubs was reportedly for loan deals only. This lack of demand for a permanent transfer, combined with a reported market value drop to €3.5 million, supports our significantly lower current estimate.
