Atlético-MG has proposed that Bahia cover the player's full salary and that the agreement includes either a purchase option or a mandatory buy clause. In addition to Bahia, Corinthians is also attempting to secure the player on loan, and two other clubs have reportedly made inquiries about his situation. Júnior Santos's contract with Atlético-MG runs until the end of 2028. The player joined Atlético-MG from Botafogo in January 2025 for a fee reported to be between US$7 million and US$8 million and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.5 million.
