Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Zeno Debast is on Liverpool’s wishlist as an alternative to Marc Guehi. Debast could be seen as a more obtainable target were Liverpool to move for him.

Zeno Debast, a young Belgian player, has been adapting well to a central midfield position at Sporting. Originally a defender, Debast has proven his versatility and skill in midfield, earning public praise from Sporting's coach Rui Borges. His performance has convinced the club to include him in their central midfield rotation for both the present and future, especially with the expected departure of Morita at the end of the 2024/2025 season. Debast was signed from Anderlecht for €15 million.

Zeno Debast has caught the attention of major clubs including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid, following a sell-on clause arranged by Anderlecht in the summer.
